Keitha-Gail Martin-Kerr

Dr. Keitha-Gail Martin-Kerr is a Teaching Professor and Associate Chair for Strategic Impact in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota. Her scholarship is situated at the intersection of collective memory work, feminist pedagogy, and teacher education, and she approaches teaching as both an intellectual and relational practice, with a sustained commitment to equity, humanization, and belonging. Her work centers on identities and communities that are often marginalized or rendered invisible in educational spaces, positioning teacher education as a critical site for social transformation. A central strand of Dr. Martin-Kerr’s research foregrounds Jewish inclusion and antisemitism as urgent and underexamined dimensions of equity in education, affirming Jewish identity and building institutional capacity to support Jewish students and educators. Through collaborative research, national fellowships, and invited presentations, Dr. Martin-Kerr works to expand dominant conceptions of diversity, equity, and inclusion while preparing future educators with the knowledge, ethical responsiveness, and courage necessary to teach inclusively and critically.
