Sivan Komatsu is a school psychology PhD candidate at the University of Washington, and she is completing her predoctoral internship at Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants in White Plains, NY. Sivan previously worked as the school psychologist at Northwest Yeshiva High School, a Jewish high school near Seattle. There, she implemented a variety of mental health interventions, including a multitiered mental health crisis response initiative following the October 7th, 2023 attacks on Israel. Seeing her students’ resilience in the aftermath of this collective trauma, Sivan became interested in studying Jewish adolescents’ wellbeing; she is currently completing her dissertation examining predictors of resilience and life satisfaction among American Jewish adolescents. In addition to researching and supporting Jewish youth, Sivan is also passionate about combatting antisemitism within the mental health field.
